Mount St. Michael Heritage Center and Museum

In January 2015 we had the grand opening of our new Heritage Center and Museum here at Historic Mount St. Michael. The Museum had its dedication and official blessing on Sunday, March 15, 2015 — the same day on which the cornerstone of the building had been blessed one hundred years ago.

As a Heritage Center, Mount St. Michael is a living, breathing, working Museum. The Jesuits left many artifacts in the building, many of which we still use on a daily basis. Artifacts are not just in the Museum, but the building itself has great historic value.

museum2 On display in the Museum are photos of construction of the building, aerial views of the property, daily life of the Jesuits, and much more. There are old books, furniture, religious artifacts, wood working tools, farming tools, and a few odd and unique artifacts.

In addition to visiting the Museum, guests can visit our beautiful Chapel and other parts of the building as well as the lovely Grotto and grounds. Come and get a glimpse into the past; see how the Jesuits lived, worked and prayed in this truly wonderful building — a treasure on the hill where “Tradition Endures.”
