Pastor: Rev. Fr. Casimir Puskorius, CMRI, was ordained in 1986. He served as pastor at Queen of Angels Church in southern California, then at Mount St. Michael from 1991-1994, and in Tacoma, Washington, for seven years. Since 2001, Father has been in residence at Mount Saint Michael, where he is the pastor of St. Michael’s parish, rector of St. Michael’s rectory, and also a high school teacher in St. Michael’s Academy. Father also served as editor of The Reign of Mary magazine for 14 years and is a regular speaker at our Fatima Conferences. An accomplished organist and choir director, Father Casimir frequently plays the organ for various ceremonies and sometimes joins in singing with the choir, when not himself offering Mass. His two sisters are also members of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen.
Assistant Pastor: Rev. Fr. Bernard Welp, CMRI, was a registered nurse when he perceived the call to serve God as a priest and entered the seminary in 2002. He became a member of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen in 2007, and was ordained by Bishop Pivarunas in 2008. Father was first assigned to assist Fr. Casimir Puskorius here at Mount St. Michael. He then helped Fr. Francisco Radecki in Wayne, Michigan, for several months before being assigned to assist Fr. Benedict Hughes at St. Joseph Minor Seminary for three years. Father returned to Mount St. Michael in 2013 to become assistant pastor. His duties include school chaplain, sick calls and missions to central Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Canada.
The Sisters of CMRI, also known as the Marian Sisters, are well known in Spokane for their deep blue full-length traditional habits. The Sisters reside in the east wing of the Mount and help staff St. Michael’s Academy, St. Michael’s Gift Shop, and Mary Immaculate Queen Center — a print shop, mail order house and apostolic center.
