St. Michael’s Academy

St. Michael’s Academy (grades K-12) is a private traditional Catholic academy staffed by priests and Sisters of the Religious Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen. Founded in 1968, St. Michael’s has dedicated over 30 years to Catholic education.

Founded on Christian ethical principles, the Academy’s curriculum emphasizes fundamental skills and perpetuates the legacy of Western traditions. The faculty strives to develop solid academic skills in their students in the areas of reading, writing, arithmetic, speaking and critical thinking, as well as an appreciation for the fine arts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What time does the school day begin and end?
     The school day begins at 8:10 a.m. and dismisses at 3:05 p.m.

What age must my child be in order to be admitted to Kindergarten?
     Children must have reached their 5th birthday by August 31 in order
     to be admitted to Kindergarten.

Is Kindergarten held five days a week?
     No, Kindergarten is held only three days a week: Monday,
     Wednesday, and Friday.

Do the students wear uniforms?
     Yes, there is a school uniform. The girls’ uniform is a blue plaid
     skirt with a white blouse and vest. The boys’ uniform is gray dress
     slacks with a navy blue sweater over a white shirt and tie.
     (*Uniforms can be purchased from St. Michael’s Academy Uniform
     Shop.)

What is the student/teacher ratio?
     The average student/teacher ratio is 18:1.

Is Mass part of the school schedule?
     Yes, Mass is offered daily at 11:30 a.m. Students of the Academy
     attend Mass twice a week.

Is religious instruction included in the curriculum?
     Yes, religious instruction is part of the daily schedule.

Does your school have a hot lunch program?
     Yes, St. Michael’s has a hot lunch program.

Does St. Michael’s have a bus service?
     No, we do not provide bus transportation.

Do you have boarding facilities?
     Yes, boarding facilities are available for out-of-town students in      grades 9-12. Girls stay in the boarding home run by the Sisters,      while boys stay with the priests and Brothers.
